Ingredients
  

1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
1 head iceberg lettuce or romaine lettuce (large leaves, washed and dried)
1 medium tomato, sliced
1 small red onion, thinly sliced
4 slices cheese (optional – cheddar, Swiss, or American)
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 tablespoon sugar-free ketchup (optional)
Pickle slices for topping (optional)

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Skillet or grill pan

Method
 

Form Patties –
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently and shape into 4 patties.
Cook Patties –
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties 3–4 minutes per side, until browned and cooked to your liking. Add cheese slices during the last minute of cooking if desired.
Prepare Lettuce Wraps –
  1. Separate large lettuce leaves and pat them dry. Use 2 leaves per burger to create a sturdy wrap.
Assemble Burgers –
  1. Place a lettuce leaf flat, add the burger patty, then layer with tomato, onion, pickles, and sauces. Top with another lettuce leaf and fold around the burger.
Serve & Enjoy –
  1. Secure with toothpicks if needed and enjoy fresh!

Notes

  • Use iceberg lettuce for crunch or romaine for flexibility.
  • For extra flavor, add avocado slices or jalapeños.
